Singer/Songwriter Rich Schroder released his debut CD “Your Kind Words.” A collection of controversial, humorous and serious songs, Rich’s stories are enough to grab anyone’s attention. The opening song “Your Kind Words” paints an intimate picture of love and support, “Your kind words were my hand-me-downs.” “Sorry I’m Not the Home Depot Type,” and “The Repo Man,” are comical songs utilizing vivid images similar to the writing style of country artist and writer Brad Paisley. In “Father Jones,” the haunting melody is a proper fit to the uncomfortable lyrics and subject matter; however, I am not sure that radio would welcome this song.
Rich Schroder’s writing abilities are that of a well-seasoned songwriter and I believe that the country music market should have a place for his talents.
